The Java Developers Day conference will take place on October 21, 2006 in Cracow, Poland, Centre of Japanese Art and Technology “Manggha”. The event will focus on the Java technologies as well as good design and programming practices relevant to the Java platform. Aimed mainly at the developers creating innovative solutions written in the Java programming language, programmers, IT department management staff, as well as those just tinkering with the Java technology.

JDD attendees will have a chance to learn about the latest developments in the Java technology field, exchange ideas and opinions as well as share the latest information from the trenches. Furthermore, there will be a chance to attend workshops, during which there will be plenty of opportiunities to ask questions and discuss matters related, but not limited, to the subject of the presentations in smaller groups.

Attendees will have a chace to learn about a wide range of topics related to Java, such as integration with AJAX technologies in Web applications, SOA, or mobile applications.

A number of speakers from Poland have confirmed their attendance. The conference’s keynote will be delivered by Bruce Eckel, who will also be promoting the 4th edition of his bestselling “Thinking in Java” book. In between the lectures there will be a chance to take a look at presentations of companies attending the conference, which you are welcome to attend.

JDD is organised by Fundacja Wspierania Edukacji Informatycznej “PROIDEA”.

The PROIDEA foundation was establised in 2004. It came into existence as an answer to the growing demand for organizations whose purpose would be to share and disseminate knowledge in the field of IT. It fullfills its statutory obligations by supporting education and promoting initiatives that popularize IT in schools. The foundation works closely with a group of specialists with extensive knowldege of their fields of expertise. Apart from those core activities, the foundation organizes local and international IT conferences, such as Przedsiębiorstwo Internet Informatyka (Enterprise - Internet - IT), MeetBSD (2004, 2005), CONFidence (2005, 2006), and Future Of Internet Security.
